The Progression of HikaNation

Stacey on Facebook: September 14, 2021 -- Just returned from 10 days backpacking in Isle Royale National Park in Lake Superior, Michigan! There are simply no words that can describe this pristine wilderness area -- it's a beyond beautiful ecological wonder -- saw moose, beaver, otters, and heard wolves howling at night. Joined 8 other friends I met 40 years ago (and one spouse) and it became the reunion of a lifetime! If you ever get a chance to go, go! It's been on my bucket list for years and now I know why! But be prepared -- -you can only get there by sea-plane or ferry. This is a wild and beautiful place! A link to a magazine article I wrote about this hike is at the bottom of this page.
September 2, 2021 -- Getting ready for Isle Royale -- hiking for a week in a National Park in Lake Superior with 8 long time (think decades) hiking friends!! Flew to Chicago today and will fly and meet up with the group tomorrow in the northern tip of Michigan before a 3-hour ferry ride. SO excited!

Pardon the brag...but excited to get my first magazine article published, in an outdoor literary mag called "Senior Hiker". I wrote a piece about our reunion trip to Isle Royale last year. Lots of fun writing about our journey and working in tandem with my friend Sharon, whose great photos were also included!
