I Miss |
I miss Monty, his horn, his cracked lip and the way he smiled. I miss the crowded Air-stream, water trough and endless hiking miles. I miss Dave B. lying in or drinking water tank and his short red shorts, I miss Lyle always in the Butchs' Bunch and talking of sorts. I miss Cindy's carefree attitude, and occasional "nip", I miss Tish's cheeks and her gray cowboy hat that was "hip." I miss Sharon's pictures and her way she would reason, I miss Kelty Mike's looks that were well seasoned. I miss Tim and Terry, but will never forget the baby bottle one would carry. I miss William and Randy playing the recorder, who would of thought William would put our history in order! I miss Gayle's sense of style and those long leggings, I miss Walking Bob who wore the samin' . I miss Tim G and his wild mans hair, I miss Tex's way that he did not care... I miss Doug's ingenious ways that always made Monty think he should not stay. I miss Ma, Pa, T Bro, Middle bro, Bro, Big sis, twin, little sis and so much more..... I miss Shelly singing at the campfire, With an amazing voice that will never expire! I miss the Stacey chase, not really, it did not involve me, But the excitement of who's next was fun to see. I miss Keith's details and great accounts of the days going on, I miss Scott's guitar and duck tape that held it on and on and on. I miss the Dalton Gang shenanigans and was amazed the way they survived, I miss Ryan tell of the story of the mice, sock and how he strived. I miss the mothers- Marcy, Jeannie, Donna and there are others. I miss the rest days, resupply boxes and boarding crossings. I miss the California bars, wrong way cairns and The Committees bossings. I miss Dave C's companionship, one pot meals and his sense of humor, I miss Rip and her little orange internal pack where all you could see was her femurs. I miss John and the way he ran to town when Helen was about. I miss Rob, who took over my youngest title and did so with a smile. I miss Gomer, Gayle and Jiamie and the way she use to wail. I even miss Bruce's stats that we told or posted on the Postums sail. I miss the times, the people, the feelings, the smells, the contact. But still I have my memories to bring them all back! Happy 40th anniversary. Hope you are all safe, healthy and taken care of. Look so forward to seeing you all next year, or sooner if our paths cross. Much love, Janet Hartowicz April 16, 2020 |
