From William Ewart's journal:

I hitchhiked to Atlanta on the 4th to visit one of my brothers and then drove to see my parents in Toccoa, Ga., on the 6th. My parents then drove me back to the point I had left HikaNation so that I could resume the hike without missing a step of the way. I still wonder how many extra days it would have taken to reach that point if my parents had not driven me there. Words could not express my thanks for them taking the time out to drive me there.

Before my parents returned me to the "trail", we drove to Monty's airstream (now in Virginia) to find out the general direction of the hike and several cities ahead of them. It was quite the site to see, all those backpackers hiking along the road after they left the Kentucky / Virginia border.
