From Stan: The photo above was taken at Kurt's Dairy Inn, an ice cream shop at the north end of Halstead, Kansas. The group had been bused up to Halstead to see the Kansas Health Museum. It was in that visit that Lyle Bialk heard the mayor of Halstead say there was no unemployment in Halstead, so he went immediately to the Halstead Hospital and got a job there in food service, and lived in our basement for several weeks to earn money to complete the hike.
