Hola,
I hope this post finds everyone healthy and enjoying this warm summer, but that is not the subject of the post. Janet and I will be hosting a Chicken BBQ in one year at my house on August 4, 5 and 6 of 2017. I have been working on some new BBQ recipes so I can't tell you now, what the menu will be. The purpose of the BBQ, other than having fun, will be to discuss the 40th HikaNation reunion which Jim Kern has offered to host in St Augustine, FL.
I am planning to travel south to Florida this winter and hope to be able to do a recon of the St Augustine area to locate hotels and facilities so that between Paula and I, we will be able to give a report on what is available in the area.
Remember for the BBQ, I have room for only a few in the house, if you want a bed, but there is a Holiday Inn Express about one mile from my campsite. For anyone who wants to tent it, there is some room in the back yard and of course the floor in the house is open to anyone and I may have a couple of blow up mattresses somewhere. Also remember to bring your swimsuits as hopefully the pool will be in good shape for swimming. Looking forward to seeing you all next August.

Time for a reminder that this year's Chicken BBQ will be August 4, 5 and 6 of 2017 this year. Janet tells me that she may be arriving as early as the Wednesday before. As usual we will be Barbequing something and remembering the hike. In addition we will be putting together the plans for our 40th reunion in 2020. I have visited St. Augustine and Jim Kern has shown me around the city. I will have a report on what St. Augustine has to offer and hopefully we can make some decisions on what we want to do for the reunion.
The sleeping options are not very many at my house so if you don't want a couch, the floor, or in the backyard by the pool, there is a Holiday Inn Express on 11 mile Rd and Hoover Rd, which is just a one mile walk away. Many stayed there at the last barbeque and it seemed to work out fine. My address is in Warren, MI 48093 and the address of the Holiday Inn Express is

I am working on having a Caja Chino for the 2017 BBQ, if I am successful in learning how to cook on it. If we have enough people show up maybe we can do half of a small pig. Be sure to make your plans and let me know.
